The Nonprofit Times published the results of a 2023 study sharing the unique positions of Black-led nonprofits, typically serving populations with high need and doing so with less resources than other organizations. Did you know: Historically, only 1% of community foundation funding is spent on Black led organizations 76% of Black led nonprofits are very small, operating with less $500K in annual revenue (33% operate on $30K per year!) 43% do the work of the organization without full-time paid staff
Black Philanthropy Month (BPM), observed and organized in Charlotte, NC by NGAAP, culminates in a campaign called Give 8/28. BPM seeks to draw attention to the disparity in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors and to raise much needed funds for organizations, like Money Magnets Club, doing important and needed work.
