Money Magnets Club was chosen over the summer as a Purple Paladin by Grant Thornton USA. It was a great experience to have people across the organization’s national footprint to learn about our work. In September, the employees of Grant Thornton USA presented us with a substantial financial investment to grow the impact and volume of our work and build our capacity to do so.

First Ever DAF Day on Thursday, October 10, 2024

Are you familiar with the vehicle for maximizing charitable contributions called a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)? In either case, the philanthropic community is drawing attention to the opportunity to grow funds you might have available to invest in importance charitable causes you believe in, and to take action to allocate those funds to support that work in important ways before the year’s end. Financial Literacy Facilitator Corps Internship Gears Up for Fall Application Period

Students ages 14-24 will be supported in their own financial literacy journey while training to help more of the kids at the core of our mission to experience our programming. We are thankful to Ally for a grant to make this program possible! Applications for partner sites and high school interns open on October 15, 2024 for spring 2025. _preneur Conference

The _preneur Conference is a joint effort of nine Charlotte,NC nonprofit leaders (called the _preneur Collective) to provide an opportunity for youth, young adult, and early stage entrepreneurs to connect with others meaningfully, to engage in commerce to support local entrepreneurs, and to foster continuous learning to best leverage resources to start, grow and support financial health and entrepreneurial efforts. The conference will include:

1. Interactive sessions entitled AI for small businesses, Raising an entrepreneur, and Act like a kid, think like a business owner, and others!

2. A marketplace for local emerging businesses and organizational resources.

3. A pitch contest, a youth entrepreneur fashion activation, a generations DJ battle, and influencers emphasizing fun, wellness, and technical support in entrepreneurship and personal/business financial literacy. Join us!
